Brantford Police Headquarters

TWFP – Architects & Engineers
Marina Huissoon – Project Architect
The Brantford Police moved from their downtown location to a green field site in 1991. The programme for the building, prepared in 1988, was for a 15 year planning horizon. The site had been planned in 1988 for a future expansion. As well as being the designer for the original buildings, Marina developed the expansion programme in 2004 for the next 15 years.
The original facility includes a 7-position firing range, cell block, forensics lab, communications centre, and all regular operational functions.
The addition to the building reflects the development of the Police Service as the community grows in size, and also incorporates renovations which result from the evolving pressures on policing. The project makes the best use of existing building infrastructure, allowing a new training facility and properties area to be built with maximum efficiency.
