City of Guelph - Guelph South End Emergency Services Facility

In a joint venture with Thomas Brown Architects Inc. The Guelph Police Service, Fire department and Emergency Medical Services (Ambulance) will share this 30,000 sq. ft. building as the base for servicing the growing South end of the City. The programme includes 12,000 sq. ft. of non-emergency Police services, a 6 bay 10,000 sq. ft. fire hall, and a 5 bay 7,500 sq. ft. ambulance (EMS) station.

By sharing building systems, the total operating cost for the 3 services will be reduced. The building will be entirely barrier-free, and is designed to meet the requirements of LEED silver. Sustainable design features include a wind turbine, on-site water recycling for truck washing, on-demand water heating and solar hot water heating, high efficiency HVAC system, and occupancy sensors in addition to a high performance building envelope.
